1. Department of Samhita & Siddhant
The Department of Samhita & Siddhant is the foundation department of Ayurveda.
It teaches fundamental principles and classical texts like Charak Samhita, Sushrut Samhita and Ashtang Hridaya etc.
The focus is on Sanskrit, Padarth Vigyan, Tridosha Siddhant, and Ayurvedic philosophy and logic.
It builds the conceptual base required for all clinical subjects in BAMS.
The department promotes research, seminars and study of original Samhitas with commentaries.

2. Department of Kriya Sharir
The Department of Kriya Sharir is dedicated to the study of  Physiology.
It explains the functions of the human body based on Dosha, Dhatu, Mala, Agni and Srotas described in Samhitas.
It correlates concepts like Tridosha and Panchamahabhuta with modern physiological processes.
It forms the basis for understanding health, pathology and treatment.

3. Department of Rachana Sharir
The Department of Rachana Sharir deals with  Anatomy.
It studies the structural composition of the human body as described in Ayurvedic texts and modern science.
Key areas include Marma, Asthi, Sandhi, Snayu, Sira, Dhamani, Srotas and organ systems.
It provides the structural foundation for Kriya Sharir and all clinical subjects.
The department uses dissection, charts, models and specimens for practical learning.

4. Dravyaguna Vigyan
The Department of Ayurvedic Pharmacology and Materia Medica.
Studies medicinal properties, actions, and uses of herbs, minerals, and animal products.
Focuses on Rasa, Guna, Virya, Vipaka, and Prabhava etc of drugs.
Deals with practical identification and pharmacognosy.
Forms the base for prescribing and understanding Ayurvedic formulations.

5. Rasashastra evam Bhaishajya Kalpana
The Department of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutics.
Deals with preparation, purification, and standardization of Ayurvedic medicines.
Key areas: Rasa Aushadhi, Bhasma, Pishti, Avaleha, Ghrita, and Taila Kalpana.
Deals with practical training in pharmacy.
Ensures quality, safety, and efficacy of Ayurvedic formulations.

6. Swasthavritta evam Yoga
The Department of Preventive and Social Medicine and Yoga.
Focuses on Dinacharya, Ritucharya, diet, hygiene, and disease prevention etc.
Covers public health, community medicine, and Ayurvedic lifestyle.
Deals with practical Yoga and Naturopathy sessions.
Aims to promote health and prevent disease through Ayurvedic and yogic practices.

7. Agad Tantra evam Vidhi Vaidyaka
The Department of Ayurvedic Toxicology and Forensic Medicine.
It studies types, symptoms, management, and antidotes of Sthavara, Jangama, and Kritrima Visha etc.
Covers medico-legal aspects like injury, death, medical ethics, and jurisprudence.
Deals with practical training in poisoning cases and court-related documentation.
Focuses on preparing Vaidyas for legal responsibilities and emergency toxicology care.

8. Rog Nidan & Vikriti Vigyan

Rog Nidan deals with Ayurvedic Pathology and Diagnosis.
It studies the causes, pathogenesis, and diagnosis of diseases based on Ayurvedic principles.
Key topics include Nidan Panchak - Nidan, Purvarupa, Rupa, Upashaya, and Samprapti of various diseases.
It forms the bridge between basic subjects and clinical practice.
The department uses practical training in pulse examination, Nadi Pariksha, and modern diagnostic tools for disease identification.

9. Kayachikitsa
The Department of General Medicine in Ayurveda.
Deals with diagnosis and management of internal diseases and systemic disorders.
Key areas: Jwara, Prameha, Hridroga, Shwas, Aamavata, and other chronic illnesses.
Provides OPD and IPD training with emphasis on Panchakarma, Rasayana, and lifestyle management.

10. Shalya Tantra
The Department of Ayurvedic Surgery.
Based on Sushrut Samhita for surgical principles, instruments, and techniques.
Key areas: Vrana, Bhagna, Arbuda, Nadi Vrana, Kshara Sutra, Agni Karma, and minor surgeries.
Taught combining classical surgery with modern concepts.
Provides training in OPD, OT, wound care, and emergency surgical management etc.

11. Shalakya Tantra
The Department of ENT, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, and Head-Neck diseases.
Key areas: Netra Roga, Karna Roga, Nasa Roga, Mukha Roga, Shiro Roga.
Deals with both classical treatments and modern diagnostics.
Clinical training includes OPD, Kriyakalpa therapies, and minor surgical procedures.

12. Prasuti Tantra evam Stri Roga
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Ayurveda.
Covers Antenatal care, Garbhini Paricharya, Prasava, Sutika Paricharya, and female reproductive disorders.
Key areas: menstrual disorders, infertility, pregnancy complications, and pediatric care.
Deals with study integrating Ayurvedic principles with modern OBG practices.
Provides training in OPD, IPD, labor room, and maternal-child health programs.

13. Kaumarbhritya
The Department of Ayurvedic Pediatrics and Child Health.
Focuses on care of newborns, infants, and children up to 16 years.
Key areas: Navjat Paricharya, Balagraha, nutrition, growth, vaccination, childhood diseases.
Taught iwith emphasis on preventive care, Rasayana, and drug dosage safety.
Provides clinical training in OPD, IPD, and pediatric procedures.

14. Panchakarma
The Department of Detoxification and Rejuvenation Therapies.
Deals with the main procedures: Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, Raktamokshana.
Key areas: chronic disease management, lifestyle disorders, Shodhana and Rasayana.
Taught with training in therapy planning and patient preparation.
Runs OPD and IPD Panchakarma units for hands-on therapeutic procedure training.
